Electromagnetic Pipe and Cable Locator
Electromagnetic Pipe & Cable Locator
Electromagnetic Pipe and Cable Locators perform non-destructive inspections of the ground. They are used to map metallic pipes and utility cables, and for clearing drilling and excavation sites.
Our Electromagnetic (EM) equipment consists of a separate transmitter and receiver, and provides a good depth of range. The transmitter emits a radio frequency electromagnetic field that induces secondary fields in nearby metallic pipes and cables. The receiver detects the fields and accurately locates and maps the pipes.
With a wide range of frequencies at our disposal, we are able to identify hidden pipe or cable connections underground and provide approximate depth estimates.
Subsurface Detection uses Electromagnetic technology to locate:
- Metal objects such as pipes and cables
- Transponders on cable and pipe networks
